1. Introduction

Welcome to SourMango Nomads. This Privacy Policy explains how Sour Mango Limited (Unit 2A, 17/F, Glenealy Tower, No.1 Glenealy, Central, Hong Kong S.A.R., BR No. 78608208) collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile application and related services.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. The App is available worldwide excluding Hong Kong S.A.R. and is intended for users aged 16 and older.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account Information: Email, name, phone number, date of birth, gender
• Profile Information: Profile photo, biography, social media links, traveler type, budget range, travel interests
• Passport & Visa Data: Passport country/nationality
• Travel Content: Posts (photos, videos, captions, location tags), comments, likes
• Communications: Direct messages with other users
• Voice & Image Input: Voice recordings for translation, photos for text recognition

Information Collected Automatically

• Location Data: GPS coordinates, city/country, travel history with dates
• Device Information: Device platform, push notification tokens
• Crash & Performance Data: Crash logs and diagnostics via Firebase Crashlytics
• Usage Data: Login timestamps, feature interactions

Information from Third Parties

• Google Sign-In: Email, name, profile picture
• Sign in with Apple: Email, name
• RevenueCat: Subscription status (no payment card details)

3. How We Use Your Information

• Provide and operate the App (account, profiles, travel planning, itineraries)
• Enable social features (connecting with travelers, messaging, posts, location sharing)
• Provide travel tools (translation, currency conversion, flight search, visa lookup)
• Deliver AI-powered recommendations via our chat assistant
• Process subscriptions and in-app purchases
• Send push notifications for messages, mate requests, and travel alerts
• Improve app stability via crash reporting
• Ensure safety, security, and legal compliance

4. Location Data

We use GPS to detect your current city/country and provide local recommendations. Travel history (cities, countries, dates) is stored to build your timeline. Location sharing with mates is off by default and can be toggled in settings. You can revoke location access at any time via your device settings.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only as follows:

• With Other Users: Public profile, posts, and messages to recipients. Location only if you enable sharing.
• Service Providers: Google Firebase (infrastructure, notifications, crash reporting), Google Maps (maps, places), Google Gemini AI (travel recommendations — no personal identifiers), Google ML Kit (on-device translation/OCR), RevenueCat (subscription management), Amadeus & Travelpayouts (flight data — no personal data), OpenStreetMap/Nominatim (geocoding).
• Legal Reasons: When required by law, court orders, or to protect rights and safety.
• Business Transfers: In connection with mergers or acquisitions, with notice to you.

6. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own via our multi-region cloud infrastructure. For transfers outside the EEA/UK, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy decisions, or your consent.

7. Data Retention

Account data, travel history, messages, and posts are retained until account deletion + 30 days. Crash logs are retained for 90 days. After deletion, data is permanently erased except where legally required.

8. Data Security

We use HTTPS/TLS for all transmissions, secure WebSocket connections for real-time features, and platform-native secure storage for authentication tokens. Chat messages are encrypted in transit and stored on our servers (not end-to-end encrypted). No method of transmission is 100% secure.

9. Biometric Authentication

The App offers an optional biometric lock feature (Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint) to restrict access to the App on your device. This feature is entirely optional and controlled by you in Settings.

Biometric authentication is handled entirely by your device's operating system (iOS or Android). We do not collect, store, or transmit any biometric data such as facial scans, fingerprints, or iris patterns. We only store a boolean preference (enabled/disabled) in your device's secure storage. No biometric data ever leaves your device or reaches our servers.

10. Your Rights

All users may request access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of consent. EEA/UK residents additionally have rights to data portability, restriction, objection, and may lodge complaints with their Data Protection Authority. California residents have rights under CCPA/CPRA — we do not sell or share personal information for advertising. Brazilian residents have rights under LGPD including confirmation, access, correction, and portability.

We also respect rights under the Australian Privacy Act, Canadian PIPEDA, Japanese APPI, South Korean PIPA, and Singapore/Thailand PDPA.

11. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at privacy@sourmango.ai.

12. Push Notifications

We use Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications (messages, mate requests, travel alerts). You can manage notifications via your device settings.

13. Cookies & Tracking

The App is a native mobile application and does not use browser cookies. Third-party SDKs may use device identifiers for functional purposes only — not for advertising or cross-app tracking.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy and will notify you via the App or email. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the SourMango Nomads mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User") and Sour Mango Limited ("Company", "we", "us"), a company registered in Hong Kong S.A.R. (BR No. 78608208).

2. Eligibility

To use the App, you must:

• Be at least 16 years of age
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
• Not be located in Hong Kong S.A.R. (the App is not available in this jurisdiction)
• Not have been previously suspended or removed from the App

3. Account Registration

You must create an account to access certain features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and all activities under your account. Each user may maintain only one account.

4. Description of Services

The App provides travel-related services including:

• Destination discovery with cost of living, safety, and community data
• AI-generated trip planning and travel assistant
• Visa requirements and tracking with expiry alerts
• Travel tools: currency conversion, translation (text, speech, image), weather, WiFi speed testing
• Social features: connect with travelers, messaging, community posts, location sharing
• Flight search and price comparison
• Travel history tracking with interactive globe

Services may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time.

5. Biometric Authentication

The App offers an optional biometric lock feature that uses your device's built-in biometric system (Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint) to restrict access to the App.

Biometric authentication is processed entirely on your device by the operating system. We never access, collect, or store your biometric data. We only store a preference flag on your device indicating whether you have enabled this feature. You can enable or disable it at any time in Settings > Security.

6. Ripe Membership (Premium)

• Ripe Membership is a recurring subscription available through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
• Payment is processed through the applicable app store
• You may cancel at any time through your app store account settings
• Refunds are governed entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play Store policies — we do not process refunds directly
• Free trials automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before expiry

7. User Content

Ownership: You retain all ownership rights to content you create (posts, photos, videos, comments, messages).

License: By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content solely for operating and improving the App. This license ends when you delete your content or account.

You are responsible for ensuring your content does not infringe third-party rights or violate applicable laws. We may remove content that violates these Terms.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Post defamatory, obscene, threatening, or discriminatory content
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Upload viruses, malware, or harmful code
• Attempt unauthorised access to the App or other accounts
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to collect data
• Stalk, harass, or harm another user
• Reverse engineer or decompile the App
• Use AI features to generate harmful or misleading content

9. Enforcement & Termination

We may take the following actions for violations: warning for minor infractions, suspension of access, or permanent termination of your account. We may skip stages for serious violations.

You may terminate your account at any time via App settings or by emailing privacy@sourmango.ai. Upon termination, your data is handled per our Privacy Policy (deleted within 30 days).

10. Intellectual Property

The App's design, code, features, logos, and all non-user content are the exclusive property of Sour Mango Limited. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license for personal, non-commercial use.

11. Third-Party Services & AI Content

The App integrates with third-party services (Google, Apple, RevenueCat, Amadeus, Travelpayouts) subject to their own terms. AI-generated content (via Google Gemini) is for informational purposes only and may contain errors — independently verify information before relying on it, especially for visas, safety, and regulations.

12. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free service, accuracy of results, or completeness of travel data. We are not a travel agency, airline, or visa processing service — you are responsible for your travel decisions and safety.

13. Limitation of Liability

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (OR USD $50 IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID US). We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Nothing excludes liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

14. Dispute Resolution

Before formal proceedings, you agree to contact us at privacy@sourmango.ai and attempt informal resolution for at least 30 days.

Unresolved disputes shall be settled by arbitration at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) under its Administered Arbitration Rules, by a single arbitrator, in English, seated in Hong Kong. Exceptions: intellectual property claims, emergency injunctive relief, and small claims.

Class Action Waiver: Disputes will be conducted only on an individual basis, not as class or representative actions.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sour Mango Limited from claims arising from your use of the App, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights.

17. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via the App or email. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

18. General

• These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement
• If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder continues in effect
• Our failure to enforce a right does not waive it
• You may not assign your rights without our consent
• We are not liable for failures due to force majeure
